How to Raise Kids with Sports


Are parents sometimes to blame for weight related issues? Many people who struggle with their weight realize that the battle started when they were just young toddlers. Women face this problem more than men mainly because of their hormones and circumstances in life.


A well-meaning parent can ruin his or her child’s life simply by raising them the wrong way and passing on poor eating and health habits. Weight problems are the root cause of many health and emotional conditions and this is something that parents must always be aware of when raising their kids and avoid the common pitfalls.

Many people for whatever reason have a belief that babies should be chubby. When women give birth to a child who is small, they almost feel shy about it. During the first few years, a lot of focus is placed on the weight of the baby where they are weighed every month. When your baby does not add weight, the doctor tells you that you are not doing a good job.

Many parents without intending to find themselves succumbing to this pressure and their focus switches to the weight of their baby. Many want their children to add at least a kilo a month and they get depressed when this does not happen. This is dangerous to a child who can struggle with this weigh for a long time if something is not done soon enough.

I’m sure you have seen a child throw a tantrum in the mall and their parents reacting by buying them candy and other sweet treats. These parents have fallen into the trap of using these treats to get their children to obey and kids happily take advantage of this. Such habits coupled with other bad habits like watching cartoons the whole day are detrimental to the current and future health of the child.

If these scenarios in any way describe your own personal experience, do not wait for things to get worse. You need to take decisive action to save your children for obesity, heart disease, diabetes and many other conditions. Diabetes can be controlled with diet and drugs such that help to suppress the appetite and in this way, help in weight loss. There are also many other drugs that can help manage such diseases.

Get your children moving and away from the TV. This is something that you have to put thought to and make time for. Fun family activities such and riding bikes, swimming, playing basketball and so forth can give children the exercise the need without them getting bored. The bonding will also be very beneficial for them and for you too. 

Another important thing to consider is what you family eats and drinks every single day. Changing the family diet can be hard but it will go a long way in improving their health. Replace unhealthy snacks with healthy ones and choose to eat homemade meals more often.  These changes are not only good for your health but also for your family budget. Take the stand now and save your children from poor health and even death.
